The man behind some of the most soulful and beat driven music coming out of Canada, Dominic Pierce began his musical journey with the drums before entering kindergarten. Rhythm in his bones, and the latest rnb and electronic music playing from his cousin’s cassette tapes during late night sleep overs, Pierce became obsessed with owning turntables and learning how to make and play electronic music.

That was the late nineties/early 2000’s. Since then Dominic Pierce has helped start up a beloved free-download beat label in Calgary called Close To Modern, while cultivating a small and dedicated following around his slow-mo, rnb infused beat music. In the last few months Dominic has opened with energy-fused deep house sets to support acts like Fred Falke and Jacques Greene and is currently working on new material with grammy-nominated vocalist, Muhsinah. This, and  a new house-collab with childhood friend and partner-in-crime Ninetynine, 2013 promises to see Dominic Pierce establish himself as a well-rounded and exciting artist to watch.
